Gemotions

The two gerbils, tiny balls of fluff, scurried around their habitat. They chewed on their bedding, and darted back and forth. They were the center of the world for Emily. For Mark, they were the center of chaos.

He had come home to find the gerbils in the apartment, and was furious. Emily, however, was in heaven. She looked on with an odd, and completely unexpected sensation. She hadn't realized how hollow her life had been.

"They're so… cute," she breathed, almost in disbelief. She knew Mark wouldn't understand. She almost didn't believe it herself. She smiled at the gerbils, completely enthralled.
