He was driving, late for a meeting, when the song started on the radio. It was his song, the one he had written in college, the one he thought no one would ever hear. He fumbled with the radio dial, turning up the volume.

His knuckles whitened on the steering wheel. The singer's rendition was different, more polished. But it was *his* song, being played on the airwaves.

He felt a curious sensation spread through him, a kind of lightness. He pulled over to the side of the road, ignoring the meeting he was late for. He had to hear this.
