The antique shop was filled with the scent of aged wood and forgotten stories. Eleanor, browsing the shelves, spotted a small, ornate box. Inside, nestled amongst velvet lining, was a bundle of letters. She pulled one out; her heart skipped a beat as she saw her own penmanship. Addressed to her college boyfriend.

She leaned against the counter, suddenly short of breath. The words were filled with a raw, unadulterated passion that she hadn't felt in decades. A wave of heat washed over her face. She felt a strange tingling sensation, and a pressure behind her eyes. It was a younger version of her, speaking with a reckless abandon she’d long suppressed. She closed her eyes, the echo of her past self resonating with her present.
