He had been avoiding it for weeks, the task of sorting through his childhood belongings. He finally found the courage and dove into a mountain of boxes. Among the faded toys and school reports, he found a letter, written in a childish scrawl. The words… the words were a confession.

He stared at the page, a sensation blooming in his chest. It detailed a youthful secret, a small act of rebellion, something he had long forgotten. He smiled, a slow, gentle curve of his lips. The memory of the event and the feeling of freedom, flooded back to him. He found himself smiling, looking at the letter and at the space between the words.
