Gemotions

The silence stretched, broken only by the hum of the stalled elevator. He found himself seated next to Susan, the office's resident gossip, and he was thrilled. He couldn't stop staring at the ceiling. The three hours felt… limitless.

He drummed his fingers on his knee, a nervous habit. But inside, he felt light, free. The usual anxieties of the day, the looming deadlines, the petty office politics, all seemed to have evaporated.

"Well," Susan said, her voice wavering. "This is a fine mess." He just chuckled, unable to contain his mirth. He felt lightheaded.

He had no idea how they'd get out, but he felt an incredible surge of joy. It was… phenomenal.
