Gemotions

The reading was over. My brother, John, was already making plans. He was getting the factory, a business his father had built from the ground up. I was always the dreamer, the one with her head in the clouds.

When my name was announced, I almost didn't believe it. My inheritance was an old library. Not just the books, but the building itself, and the stories within. My heart was pounding, I could feel it in my throat.

I walked to the place, the place that was now mine, and ran my hand along the books. The sheer scale, the promise, the knowledge. It was too much. I laughed.
