Gemotions

Her jaw went slack as she scrolled down the list of transactions. Her fingers, usually quick and efficient, fumbled over the trackpad. The small, nondescript file, hidden deep within her husband's digital vault, contained a financial life she knew nothing about.

A nervous energy coursed through her. She rose from the chair, the sudden movement nearly knocking her off balance. She began to pace the room, her thoughts a jumble of questions and possibilities. Her hands, unable to stay still, kept fiddling with the ends of her hair.

She glanced at the photograph on her desk of her and John on their wedding day. A wave of conflicting emotions washed over her. She knew she had to face him, to understand. "John," she muttered to herself, her voice barely a whisper, "what is this?"
