“It's… it’s called Chronosomnia,” the doctor said, his voice hesitant. "Essentially, your bodies are out of synch with the natural flow of time, and there seems to be only one other recorded instance…"

That instance was a woman named Clara, who had contacted the hospital just a week ago. Her name was etched into her memory, her symptoms similar to his own.

He found her sitting at a table at a small coffeeshop. She was reading a book, head down, until she looked up. He caught her eye, and she immediately looked up, a glimmer appearing in her eyes. He felt a spark of hope. She gestured for him to sit down. He took a seat and she began. "The… the skipping," she began. "You too?"

His reply was a breathy, "Yes."
