It lay on the bedside table, amidst her scattered books. “Write a novel,” the first entry declared. He felt a peculiar heat spread through his chest. He knew she loved to read, but this… this was a whole new level.

He sat on the edge of the bed, the list a tangible connection to her hidden aspirations. He pictured her, lost in her own world of words, creating something beautiful. He had to support her.

He got up and retrieved his own laptop, knowing he had to start writing too.
