Gemotions

He was halfway through his morning coffee when his neighbour, Sarah, appeared at the back door. Her voice was shy as she asked about the possibility of growing some vegetables. A rush of something electric went through him.

He felt invigorated, as if a weight had lifted from his shoulders. The world, usually so predictable, suddenly seemed full of exciting potential. He wanted to leap, to dance.

“Yes, absolutely!” he blurted out, unable to contain his enthusiasm. "You can have whatever you want!" The thought of planting, growing, and nurturing filled him with something he hadn't felt in a long time.
