He stared at the title. "Horace Grimshaw: A Life in Shadows," the cover announced, written in a gothic font. Horace let out a loud guffaw, startling the pigeons in the park. Shadows? This was beyond absurd!

He sat on a park bench, the book resting on his lap. He flipped through the pages, finding a detailed, and completely inaccurate, description of his childhood, his (supposed) clandestine dealings, and his collection of antique swords. He chuckled, a deep rumbling sound from his chest. The author had clearly taken some liberties.

He reached a paragraph detailing his (highly fictional) romance with a spy. He was breathless. This whole thing was such a delightful farce. He leaned back on the bench, smiling, and began to read with renewed interest.
