He had to lean against the wall to keep from breaking out in laughter. Inside the bustling coffee shop, he saw David and Michael, his buddies from college, waiting to interview for the same barista job. They were both terrible cooks, and even worse at working fast.

He pictured David, flustered and spilling coffee everywhere, and Michael, accidentally using salt instead of sugar. The image of the two of them attempting latte art was particularly enthralling.

A low chuckle rumbled in his chest, shaking his shoulders. This would be a performance, a carefully choreographed dance of incompetence, and he wouldn't miss a minute of it. He grinned and casually walked in to the cafe.
