Gemotions

“Unbelievable,” Michael muttered, though his tone was more a hum than a complaint. He had stumbled upon the mother lode of his school career: a meticulously organized filing cabinet dedicated solely to him.

He pulled out a folder, its label reading: “Michael – 1st Grade – Art Projects.” The contents were a riot of color and questionable artistic merit. He burst into laughter, the sound echoing through the empty house.

He unearthed a particularly awful paper plate sculpture of a spaceship, complete with glitter glue exhaust fumes. He imagined his mother’s patient face, admiring the creation. He could barely contain himself. It was a wonderful, weird testament to a lifetime of love.
