“Oh, this is rich,” announced Jasper, leaning back in his chair with a grin. The email confirming the error of the scholarship funding lay open before him. Apparently, his funds were supposed to have gone to a fellow named Bartholomew, a name that seemed to belong in a historical novel, not a university database.

He found himself shaking his head, a chuckle rumbling in his chest. The absurdity of it all was simply too much. He could almost hear the frantic phone calls and the panicked apologies.

Jasper started brainstorming. He considered sending a playful email to the financial aid department. He briefly contemplated creating a social media profile for the fictitious Bartholomew. The possibilities were too good to pass up.
