“And now, a song by an up-and-coming artist, well, he *thinks* he's an artist," the karaoke host announced. Liam almost choked on his drink. He had written *Midnight Bloom* years ago, and now, here it was, about to be mangled by some stranger. He leaned forward, bracing himself. The singer, a guy in a too-tight t-shirt, was doing his best, but clearly the skill was not there. Every missed note sent a ripple of amusement through him. He silently applauded, appreciating the sheer audacity of it all.
