Gemotions

The sunlight poured into the small library as David carefully examined the images. His grandfather, Arthur, had been a stern and proper man, always impeccably dressed. David had never seen him loosen his tie, let alone smile broadly.

He flipped through a set of photos taken during what his family called a "very serious business trip." There, Arthur was grinning at the camera, wearing a grass skirt, a lei around his neck, and a tropical cocktail in hand. He was surrounded by smiling locals and looked like the happiest man alive. "Oh, Arthur," David said with a slight chuckle.

Another photograph captured Arthur, arm around a laughing woman, on a boat. David smirked. This was a side of his grandfather that the family had never mentioned. He felt a light feeling in his chest.
