Sophie was charged with sorting through her grandmother’s things, a task she had approached with a heavy heart. Grandmother was a stern woman who had told Sophie she did not approve of frivolous behavior.

That all changed when she discovered a box of pictures tucked away in the back of a closet. In one, her grandmother was seated on a motorcycle. In another, she was holding a rifle, a huge smile on her face as she looked at something out of frame. Sophie's lips curled up.

Her grandmother was always so proper, and the stories were even more so. Sophie's chest felt light, almost airy. This was a grandmother she wanted to get to know.
