She held the letter aloft, imagining Kevin's sheepish face. A slow, bubbling laugh emerged, shaking her shoulders. She turned the letter over in her hand, idly wondering if he'd finally perfected the technique. The memory, a painful one at the time, now seemed like a funny little anecdote.

"Honestly," she murmured, still grinning. She set the letter aside, momentarily distracted by the thought of calling her stylist and asking for green highlights.
