The air in the courtroom was thick with unspoken tension. Their parents, both gone, had left a void that seemed impossible to fill. Their sister, Fiona, was visibly distraught. Liam, however, found himself experiencing a curious sensation, like a string was lightly strumming in his chest.

The solicitor outlined the legacies. Fiona was left the family farm and a substantial trust fund. Liam was left a small island off the coast of Scotland and a collection of antique rubber ducks. He nearly snorted with suppressed glee. He could see himself, a recluse, living on a remote island. This inheritance was too perfect.
