"What in the world?" Mr. Chen said out loud as he gazed at the gift on his desk. He was a history teacher, and his classroom was normally covered in historical items. This, however, was a large, brightly colored piñata shaped like a T-Rex. It was from Maya, a student known for her creative flair.

He reached out and gently tapped the piñata. It was sturdy. He imagined the effort it must have taken to create such a thing. A silent laugh escaped him as he thought of his students trying to break it open. He just stood there for a long moment, smiling.
