"Failed? *Failed*?!" Leo repeated aloud, staring at the screen. The physics exam score, a brutal 42%, glowed menacingly. He leaned back in his chair, a chuckle bubbling in his chest. His shoulders shook slightly. It was so unexpected, so completely off-kilter.

He pictured Professor Davies' face when he graded the exams. The meticulous man, known for his harsh critiques and even harsher grading rubrics. He ran a hand over his face, as if trying to restrain the grin that threatened to explode.

He’d studied, he'd even thought he understood the material, but this was undeniably comical. He glanced around the nearly empty lecture hall, catching his own reflection in the window. He looked like he was about to burst out laughing.
