A warm sensation spread through Evelyn’s chest as she saw the familiar title. "How I Learned to Love Excel Spreadsheets." The college essay she’d submitted was now a model for other students to read. She stared at it, mouth slightly open.

She remembered the months of work that went into it, how she’d carefully constructed the argument that spreadsheets were a form of art. Now, she felt a sort of giddy energy.

She reread the essay, feeling a strange mix of pride and absurdity. She actually got away with it. People had liked it. It was, she concluded, a rather strange and satisfying turn of events.
