The flyer, advertising a tattoo convention, was the catalyst. It featured a blatant copy of her piece, ‘Aurora Borealis.’ A wave of pure, unfiltered fury washed over Iris.

She grabbed the flyer and crumpled it in her fist, then hurled it into the trash. Her heart hammered against her ribs. She didn't want to talk to anyone. She had to be alone.

She paced her living room. She felt trapped. She picked up a vase, bringing it to her eye level. Then, she slowly placed it back down.
