He stared at the document, the damning similarities highlighted in garish yellow. The audacity of it, the sheer, unadulterated gall. Alex felt a tremor run through him, a physical manifestation of the turmoil within. He wanted to tear the report apart, to shred it into a million tiny pieces. The professor's words rang in his ears, each syllable a fresh insult.

He pushed his chair back from the desk, the scrape of the legs on the floor a sharp, grating sound. He needed to move, to be away from the suffocating pressure of the accusation. He grabbed his jacket and stormed out of his dorm, slamming the door behind him. The cool night air offered little relief.
