The waiting room seemed to vibrate with her mounting tension. Her palms were slick with sweat. The cheap, plastic chairs offered no comfort. She had trusted this clinic with her health, with her life. Now, they were saying her medical files had been confused with… some *other* person’s.

She wanted to scream. She wanted to shatter the sterile calm of the office. She wanted to tear down the posters advertising dental hygiene.

"I need to see the head administrator immediately," she told the nurse, her voice ice. The room was spinning; she felt lightheaded, the world closing in on her. She had a right to her privacy, and what was left of her control.
