"This can't be happening," Clara muttered to herself, her voice barely a whisper. The screen displayed the online journal, the article that was *hers*, except with someone else's byline. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a pressure building. She had spent countless hours researching and writing, and now some fraud was taking credit.

She rose from her chair, her legs suddenly shaky. She started to pace. Back and forth, back and forth. Her phone buzzed; a message from a friend congratulating her on the publication. She slammed her fist against the desk, the impact stinging her hand. The desk, her research, her work... all the things she had poured her heart into, were now someone else's.
