The email read, "Congratulations, Dr. Ramirez, on your recent publication!" His blood ran cold. He knew the feeling in his gut was not happiness. He opened the link, his vision focusing on his article, but the name above the byline was not his. He was frozen.

He felt the muscles in his jaw tighten, his teeth grinding. He looked around the room, as if searching for something to destroy. His gaze fell on a vase, sitting on a nearby shelf. He walked to it, picked it up, and threw it to the floor. The sound of the shattering glass did nothing to soothe the tension.
