The dorm room felt too small, too close. Michael felt a raw sensation in the pit of his stomach. His journal, his sanctuary, had been invaded. He'd come back to find it displaced, slightly ajar.

He shoved his hands into his pockets. He wanted to break something, anything. He didn't even look at his roommate, Kevin. He simply walked to his desk and began furiously cleaning it. Each item - a pen, a stapler, a textbook - was handled roughly, thrown onto the organized chaos. He found he couldn’t stand the silence.

"Did you?" he finally asked, his voice barely audible.

Kevin didn’t answer right away. He knew.
