Gemotions

The package was small, unassuming, but it sat on his table like a physical weight. The name on the label read "Sarah Chen." He’d never met a Sarah Chen, but she seemed to have a penchant for online shopping, judging by the constant flow of mail. He ran a hand through his hair, the gesture rough, almost violent.

He stood in the middle of his living room, completely motionless, staring at the box. His pulse thrummed in his ears. He wanted to scream. He wanted to break something.

He kicked the table leg, a sharp pain shooting through his foot. He swore under his breath, then, slowly, picked up the box and threw it in the recycling bin.
