The silence in the library was broken only by the rhythmic tapping of his fingers against the table. He'd crafted a sarcastic and detailed critique of a fellow student's project, intending to text it to his friend. He’d sent it to the professor by accident.

He froze. His face went pale. His breath became shallow. He felt a cold sweat break out across his forehead. He pictured the professor reading it, the grim expression, the inevitable consequences.

He felt as though someone had punched him in the gut. He wanted to disappear. He felt a tightening in his throat that made it hard to breathe. He buried his face in his hands, wishing he could rewind time.
