Gemotions

The letter was a punch to the gut. The familiar handwriting, his mother. Resignation. He felt a sudden, violent surge of something hot and sharp, coursing through his veins. He didn’t know what to do. He felt trapped. His apartment suddenly felt too small.

He kicked a chair across the room, the wood splintering. He hated the letter. He hated his father. He hated her, too. He paced, his hands clenched into fists, the nails digging into his palms. He considered setting the letter on fire. He wanted to see everything burn.
