Gemotions

The air crackled with a silent energy. He could feel a rising heat in his chest, a pressure building behind his eyes. He kicked a loose stone, sending it flying across the now-barren earth. He wished he could kick whatever had destroyed it.

He wanted to lash out, to hurt something, to make the perpetrators feel the weight of his grief. His palms itched, his muscles coiled tight, ready to spring. He took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm brewing within.
