The heat of the sun seemed to intensify the turmoil within him. David’s face was flushed, his vision blurring. He was given a small sum of money, a mere pittance compared to the sprawling vineyard his sister, Isabella, now owned. The vineyard was their family’s legacy, the dream they had shared since they were children. He had sacrificed everything to get it going.

A knot formed in his stomach. He clenched his jaw, battling the urge to shout. He recalled the countless hours he’d spent laboring in the fields, while Isabella enjoyed a life of luxury. He had always taken care of the farm; it was his everything.

“This… this can’t be right," he said, the words barely a whisper. He wanted to destroy it all. To watch it burn. His sister smiled at him, the expression entirely devoid of compassion.
