“Write a book.” "Travel the world." "Be happy without you." The words on the list burned into Clara's eyes. It was tucked into a photo album, beside a picture of them laughing. She felt a burning sensation in her throat.

She tossed the album across the room. She could hear the impact, the sound of the plastic cover cracking. She stood there, frozen.

Later, she went through the house, systematically. She found her own favorite things and put them in a box. She was going to leave.
