Gemotions

The afternoon light streamed through the living room window, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. Across the yard, the fence-building was in full swing, creating a cacophony of noise. I was trying to study. My brain would not focus.

I slammed my textbook shut. The thought of this continuing for the next week made me want to scream. My hands fumbled for the remote, switching on the TV, blasting the volume.

Then, just as quickly, I switched the TV off. My head throbbed. I needed a break.
