Gemotions

He had always been a lifter. Now, they were telling him to be a runner. He, strong and powerful, was told that he's supposed to run long distances? He felt his shoulders slump. He felt the weightlifting bench, usually a source of comfort, suddenly feel menacing.

"It's about team balance," the coach explained, but the words did nothing to soothe his building temper. He kicked at a loose stone on the track. He felt a tension headache starting.

He scowled, his brow furrowed. He would do it, of course. But the resentment festered.
