The fluorescent lights of the terminal buzzed, amplifying the general sense of unrest. Kevin had to give a speech at his daughter's school. He'd poured his heart into it, and he was proud of what he had prepared. The delayed flight was a direct challenge to his authority, to his plans.

He gripped his phone tightly. He checked the time, and again. He paced the length of the waiting area. His stomach clenched. He ran through the speech again in his mind.

He went to the window, and pressed his forehead against the cool glass.
