Leo stared at the email on his phone, the screen reflecting his own distorted face. His face was a mask, his eyes narrowed. He felt a bitter taste on his tongue. He had put so much effort into the essay; it was unfair.

He tossed the phone onto the bed, the plastic case making a loud thud. He began pacing the small room, his footsteps heavy and rhythmic. He felt a surge of energy, a need to do *something*.

He wanted to rip up the essay, to destroy it, to erase the entire situation. He resisted the urge and picked up his phone, sending off a text. He needed to talk to someone.
