He gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. The transfer to the warehouse was a slap in the face. Richard fumed, the engine of his car a low growl of matching his mood.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm down. The air felt thick and heavy in his lungs, and he hated the idea of moving. He imagined the dust and noise, the heavy lifting and endless routines.

He switched the car radio to a talk show, but the voices grated on his nerves. He turned it off, the sudden silence adding to the unpleasant sensation building inside him.
