"Perfect!" Barry muttered, slamming the hammer down. The picture frame, crooked after the third adjustment, still didn't hang straight. He rubbed his temples, a headache blossoming behind his eyes. He’d promised himself, a fresh start, a clean slate, a home worthy of his efforts. So far, the house was just proving a monumental pain.

He was about to abandon the whole task when he noticed the strange pattern in the wood paneling behind the frame. With a frustrated sigh, he poked at a section which popped open, revealing a dark, musty space. He cursed under his breath.
