He could practically taste the bitterness rising in his throat. He'd been looking forward to a quiet evening of studying, but it seemed fate had other plans. His roommate, Alex, was sitting at their shared desk, casually flipping through the pages of his journal. The blatant disregard for his privacy was astounding. He felt a throbbing sensation behind his eyes. He crossed the room, his footsteps heavy. “Alex,” he started, his voice a low growl, "What the hell are you doing?" The casual shrug Alex gave him was a punch to the gut.
