He stared at the password-protected blog, a digital fortress his son had erected to keep him out. He was sitting at the computer, the keyboard untouched, the cursor blinking, mocking. He felt a tightening in his jaw, a muscle spasm he couldn’t seem to control. His son, Alex, had always been so open, so communicative.

The blog’s title was "The Real Me." He scoffed. What did that even mean? He felt a rising heat in his chest, a frustration that was becoming difficult to contain. He reached for the mouse, then hesitated. He took a deep breath.
