The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, a constant, irritating drone. He felt a tightening in his chest. It had been his idea. He'd pitched the project. Now, the credit was being given to her. It wasn't fair.

He leaned back in his chair, feeling the cheap plastic creak beneath him. His palms began to sweat. He ran a hand through his hair, mussing it further.

He stood up, his legs feeling unsteady. He needed air, some space, away from the congratulatory handshakes and forced smiles.
