The musty smell of the storage unit was starting to get to Amelia. She coughed, pulling her scarf up to cover her nose. This was a waste of a Saturday. Her mother's hoarding was legendary, and she was now the unlucky recipient of that legacy.

She found the letter in a box marked "Important Documents." The paper was thick, almost luxurious, a stark contrast to the flimsy cardboard of the box itself. She ran her fingers along the embossed crest at the top, feeling an inexplicable tremor of… something.

The letter detailed her mother’s resignation from a prestigious firm, a job she’d never mentioned. Amelia felt her pulse quicken. The words were terse, filled with thinly veiled anger at the injustices her mother felt. The letter was an explosion.
