Gemotions

The light in the hallway flickered, casting long, dancing shadows across the floor. Sophie, hunched over a cluttered table, let out a frustrated sigh. She'd been at this all morning, and the end was nowhere in sight.

She held the letter gingerly, the paper thin and fragile. The handwriting, unfamiliar, looked almost angry. She noticed the aggressive slant of the letters, the heavy pressure of the pen. She felt herself clenching her jaw.

The letter was a scathing indictment of a work environment she knew nothing about. She kept reading, feeling the weight of the words pressing down on her. The more she read, the more she felt… something. It was not a pleasant feeling.
