The email, titled "Chapter 7 - The Argument," landed in her inbox like a lead weight. She knew better than to open it, yet curiosity always got the better of her. With a click, the familiar pang of something like frustration bloomed in her chest.

The protagonist, a thinly veiled version of herself, was depicted as petulant and unreasonable. The dialogue, supposedly mirroring their own arguments, was… well, it was skewed. It felt like a deliberate misrepresentation.

She ran a hand through her hair, a sigh escaping her. She’d made dinner plans with her partner, Liam, at her favorite Italian place. She considered canceling. She found herself imagining the conversation to come.
