Gemotions

Jessica found herself unable to concentrate on her work. Her son, Ben, was starting second grade, and his teacher was Ms. Miller. The same Ms. Miller who'd given her the silent treatment for weeks after a misunderstanding. She felt a familiar knot forming in her stomach.

She found herself constantly checking her phone for emails from the school. She'd always been a people-pleaser, and the thought of facing Ms. Miller again filled her with a sense of dread. She’d always been too sensitive.

She kept replaying all the possible scenarios in her head, imagining the awkward silences and the forced pleasantries. She didn't want the tension to affect Ben, but it was hard to hide her discomfort.
