Gemotions

“What did you expect?” Mark muttered under his breath, as he stared at the mountain of paper. The air in his childhood bedroom felt tight, stifling. He felt a need to pace. He picked up a folder, a book report, and his vision blurred.

He felt a sudden, sharp pressure in his chest. He set the report back down, his hands trembling. He needed to take a break. He needed to do something, anything, else.

He walked over to the window, took a long, deep breath and then walked back, picking up the folder, as if it would disappear if he let it.
