He stared at the screen, his breath hitching in his chest. A flush crept up his neck, and his ears felt hot. His carefully crafted words, his insightful analysis, his hard work – published. Under someone else's name. A wave of nausea rolled over him. He felt as if he was falling, tumbling into an abyss.

He gripped the edge of the desk, his knuckles white. The air in the room felt thick and heavy, as if it were pressing down on him. He considered reaching out, screaming his truth to the world. But his mouth felt dry. He was paralyzed.
