Gemotions

The house felt wrong. That was the only way Leo could describe it. The air hung heavy, and the silence was unnerving. He was always on edge, jumpy, hearing every creak and groan. He'd poured a drink to try and calm the internal whir.

He was exploring the basement, the damp, cool air raising goosebumps on his arms. The foundation walls felt cold and forbidding. He noticed a section of the concrete wall that looked different, almost like it had been recently patched.

His palms started to sweat as he ran his hand along the surface, searching for something, anything. His breath hitched when he found a small, circular indentation. Pressing it, he felt the wall give way. A dark, narrow doorway opened into a small, windowless space.
